Indecisive

I have actually had a difficult time getting into playing my Sims 4 legacy. I'm not sure why it is. I want to write a whole review of TS4, and doing that might explain some of why I haven't gotten into it. It doesn't feel as much like Sims as the earlier games did, not to me anyway. The little mini goals you have for school/work/aspirations... it's not that I don't like them, but they just change the gameplay an awful lot. And I'm not really very fond of the graphics. You might even go so far as to say I dislike them. All of the previous Sims games have had cartoon-y graphics, and I actually like that - I'm not overly fond of super realistic graphics. But the neighborhoods are what I don't like. Their household is in Willow Springs, and it just looks like a Disney or Pixar movie set. I much preferred the beautiful TS3 neighborhoods, and even TS2, although it didn't look nearly as pretty as TS3, had its own style that wasn't overly cartoon-y.

But I am going to continue playing it, just a bit more slowly than I had anticipated. I keep wanting to play TS2 again. TS2 is like a comfort food. It's something that you know you're going to enjoy every time, you understand it, it's always consistently good. You've had it so many times that it's not really very special, but you know you're going to enjoy eating it.

I have good memories associated with TS2, memories from when my life wasn't... before I had made all kinds of stupid mistakes. When I had more potential ahead of me, instead of lost potential and wasted years behind me.

Plus, TS2 runs like a dream. It loads quickly, runs smoothly, has no lag. It even runs on my laptop. TS3 has so much that I still want to do, but it loads very slowly, it lags, speed 3 isn't as fast as I would like, sometimes it crashes. When I get a new computer in a few years, TS3 is going to be great. But right now, it's so slow.

And TS4 is just the new one, the unknown. I will get back into it, but right now, I have TS2 waiting.
